Artist and educator Julie De Vries lives in Houston with her husband and daughter. Her work includes painting, sculpture, drawing, collage, and performance. She has exhibited in both commercial and non-profit spaces. She received her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago focusing on painting and Latin American art history, during which time she traveled and studied throughout Latin America, and then went on to earn her MFA in painting and drawing from the University of Houston. She currently teaches art at Lone Star College and is represented by Jonathan Hopson Gallery in Houston.
